The American Train Dispatchers Association Welcomes Jeffrey Robb as Director of Government Affairs

December 19, 2025

Cleveland, OH – The American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Robb as the Organization’s new Director of Government Affairs.

Jeffrey brings extensive legislative experience to the role, having most recently served as a Legislative Aide for the AFL-CIO’s Transportation Trades Department (TTD). Prior to his position with TTD, Jeffery previously worked with former Senator Sherrod Brown and the Ohio Legislative Service Commission. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies, with a minor in Public Leadership, from Hiram College.

Historically, ATDA’s governmental advocacy has been limited to its shared efforts with other rail unions and with the AFL-CIO’s Transportation Trades Department, and those partnerships will continue to play a vital role in our work. As legislation, regulation, and rail technology grow increasingly complex, however, the Executive Board recognizes the need to also strengthen ATDA’s own direct engagement on issues unique to our members. Creating this role and appointing Jeffrey Robb ensures that ATDA is positioned to meet those challenges with a strong, sustained presence in Washington.

ATDA President Ed Dowell expressed his enthusiasm for Jeffrey’s appointment, stating:

I look forward to our members hearing from Jeffrey and seeing the benefits of his work. Jeffrey’s leadership will be instrumental in addressing these challenges head-on.”

Jeffrey will begin his work in January and will be based in ATDA’s Washington, D.C. office within the AFL-CIO building. In this role, he will strengthen ATDA’s direct engagement with federal policymakers and advance the organization’s mission to secure a stronger future for the railroad professionals we represent.
