Atlanta, Georgia – On May 2, 2025, American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) member Shanan Williams was elected as General Chairwoman of the NS Integrated System Committee. Shanan will step up to the role after previously serving as Vice General Chairwoman of the committee, since January 2023. While the election of any General Chair marks a significant moment of leadership transition, Shanan’s election also carries a historic significance. With the election concluded, she is now the first woman to ever serve in the General Chair role for the NS Integrated System Committee or any of its predecessor system committees.
Commenting on her election, Shanan said, “I'm inspired by the dedication of every candidate who stepped up to serve our members. Together (the membership, committee, and I) will have a powerful opportunity to build something greater. I look forward to the journey ahead—through this interim term and beyond."
