Cleveland, Ohio – On October 8, 2026, the American Train Dispatchers Association (ATDA) filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board (NMB) on behalf of its members from the Dakota, Minnesota, & Eastern Railroad (DME) d.b.a. Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). The move represents ATDA’s next step in resolving its ongoing dispute with Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad (CPKC), which operates the DME Railroad and employs its ATDA-represented Train Dispatchers. ATDA has bargained with CPKC on behalf of the DME members since they voted to Organize last year. ATDA seeks a Collective Bargaining Agreement that includes fair rates of pay, rules, and working conditions through terms mandated by the Railway Labor Act, but to date, CPKC has refused to provide a fair offer.
